Transferring a mold to a new supplier can be a daunting task. It usually is in a time where products have been delayed and you have an immediate need for parts. JDI understands this and has implemented an internal procedure to simplify the transfer process:
1
After discussing and reviewing your parts, we will go over any special requirements (i.e. inspection, packaging, etc.).
2
JDI will develop and communicate a realistic timeline for the transfer process to be completed.
3
All necessary components and materials are ordered ahead of time to prevent delays.
4
Each mold is immediately inspected, cleaned, and lubricated upon arrival at our facility. Repairs are completed if deemed necessary.
5
The mold is sampled and parts are inspected in our quality department. Any final corrections or adjustments are made, based off of the initial inspection, and then a final inspection occurs.
6
JDI will supply all requested quality documentation (FAI, PPAP, etc.) to the customer as well as sample parts.
7
The customer approves the samples and the mold is cleared for production.
