Reshoring, also referred to as onshoring, inshoring, or backshoring, refers to moving the manufacturing of goods and products from a foreign country to the country where those goods and products are being sold. Reshoring is becoming increasingly more common in the United States and is driven by a variety of different factors.

How to Reshore Plastic Injection Molded Products
If you already have an injection mold and are looking to bring it to the United States, there are several important considerations that need to be addressed during the planning process. You will need to know the overall size of the mold, cavitation count, shot weight, injection unit type, and auxiliary features. Typically, it is best to provide us with a CAD file of the mold as that will most likely provide us with everything that we need to know. You will also need to convey details about the demand for the parts including typical order quantities, EAU, seasonality, etc.
By gathering this information, we are ensuring that our equipment has the capability of utilizing the mold that you are looking to reshore and that we are ready to support the project. We want to plan as much as possible so that there is no added downtime or headaches for our customers and that parts can be molded as soon as the mold is received.
